Rebel Mc review

Posted : 13 years, 7 months ago on 9 September 2010 01:41 (A review of Rebel Mc)

Real Name:
Michael West
Profile:
The 80's popster turned proto-jungle revolutionary was born Michael West in 1965 in London. He joined Double Trouble in the early '80s with Michael Menson and Leigh Guest, releasing the ska-pop hit "Street Tuff". Rebel MC gained fame in England as a pop-rapper, but by 1991 he had released Black Meaning Good, an album that presaged jungle with hardcore techno married to dub basslines and ragga toasters such as Barrington Levy and P.P. Arnold. His 1992 singles "Rich Ah Getting Richer" and "Humanity" also showed the new direction. "Code Red" - released as Conquering Lion - became an outright jungle smash in 1994, bringing the jungle movement to the British masses.

Black Death review

Posted : 13 years, 7 months ago on 9 September 2010 11:48 (A review of Black Death)

certainly captures what one would suspect to be the awful feel of such a plague - such depression and desperation captured in a powerful film. I enjoyed but didnt enjoy - if you get by drift.

Don't Look Now (1973) review

Posted : 13 years, 7 months ago on 9 September 2010 07:35 (A review of Don't Look Now (1973))

didnt really enjoy it yeah I understood what the film was trying to do but the majority of the film is Donald Sutherland walking around a bizarrely quiet Venice - with the occasional bizarre event (sort of) happening. Worth a go - but dont expect too much.

Salt review

Posted : 13 years, 7 months ago on 7 September 2010 11:27 (A review of Salt )

i must admit i really wasnt looking forward to watching an action flick with Anglina in it - dunno know why - Tombraider cut deep i guess. So really expected aload of tosh. Pleasently though the film was extremely entertaining - yeah it was far fetched - but how many action films these days are not? I would recommend a few pals round, bucket of chicken and feet up 8/10

Extraordinary Measures review

enjoyable - tugs on the heart strings as very emotionally charged - but a strong believable story with a
an excellent cast.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay review

Posted : 13 years, 8 months ago on 3 September 2010 01:36 (A review of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay)

excellent game - love the fighting in butcher bay - very original and visually lovely. Terrible hard at points - to the point you really do want to throw the towel in but worth persuing.
